On May 25, Meta will host a fireside chat with selected key figures across the continent that will explore the global impact of Africa’s youth and how platforms like Instagram help fuel their global appeal.
Similarly, Meta is promoting a challenge dedicated to encouraging African communities to celebrate their authenticity in the areas of fashion, food, dance, music, art and so much more, in their own voices. The Community (video) Reels Challenge can be shared on Instagram via #ShareYourAfrica #AfricaMade by the public.
An offshoot of Facebook, Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities and grow businesses. The social media platform is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology.
