The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Katsina State has empowered 60 persons with special needs under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, a flagship programme of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

The resettlement exercise, held at the Katsina Local Government Secretariat, provided financial assistance and essential tools to help beneficiaries achieve self-reliance and economic stability.

Addressing the beneficiaries, the state coordinator of NDE Katsina, Alhaji Hadi Mamman, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to inclusivity, emphasising the NDE’s role in addressing unemployment across communities to ensure that no group is left behind.

He noted that the programme aligns with the federal government’s vision of expanding job opportunities for youth, women, and vulnerable individuals.

Through comprehensive training in various vocational fields, beneficiaries have acquired the necessary skills to contribute meaningfully to the economy.

The resettlement exercise also extended support to other categories of beneficiaries, including those in vocational training, agricultural development, and small-scale enterprises.

Financial grants and essential equipment were distributed to enable recipients to launch or expand their businesses, fostering long-term sustainability.

Among the items provided were sewing machines, hairdressing kits, electrical installation tools, GSM repair kits, fashion design machines, and leatherwork equipment.

Additionally, financial support was offered to beneficiaries of agricultural empowerment schemes, small business startups, and income-generating activities for women, ensuring they had the resources needed to establish sustainable livelihoods.

Alhaji Mamman praised the Director General of NDE, Silas Ali Agara, for his dedication to tackling unemployment and empowering Nigerians.

He urged all beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, enhance their livelihoods, and contribute to the socio-economic growth of Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to trainers, local government officials, and stakeholders who played a crucial role in the success of the programme.
