The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has urged indigenes and residents of Ibadanland to make New Year resolutions that will foster peaceful coexistence, unity, socioeconomic rejuvenation, and sustainable development across the ancient city.

In his message to mark the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026, the monarch congratulated the people of Ibadanland for witnessing the New Year in good health and spirits.

In a statement on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Solomon Ayoade, the Olubadan called on all residents to recommit themselves to the security of lives and property, promotion of cultural values, and monumental development in all facets of life.
“I urge you all to be resolute on the progress and unity of Ibadanland so as to jointly realise the modern Ibadanland of our dream,” he said.

Oba Ladoja also shared his personal resolution for the New Year, declaring, “As for me, I have resolved to use the rest of my life to serve God and humanity as a good example for others to follow.”

The Olubadan also called on traditional title holders across Ibadanland to align with his vision of moving the city forward for the collective good.

He highlighted his key priority areas to include improved security, urban renewal, eradication of land grabbing, resuscitation of moribund companies, and the preservation of Yoruba cultural heritage.
