A total of 40 coaches have commenced a six-day NFF D-License Coaching Course in Abuja, as of yesterday.
NFF technical director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, explained that the D-License serves as a prerequisite for progressing to the C-License course. The course is modular and designed for beginners, requiring a minimum of 60 hours of instruction.
“Just as in life, everything in football progresses in stages. We have many talented young individuals, and coaching young players requires specialised training,” Eguavoen stated.
“This course is not a one-off event. Following this national programme, we will extend it to the Zones and subsequently to the States. With 40 coaches participating, I assure you they have much to learn.”
The NFF recently organised a record-setting CAF C-License programme exclusively for women coaches during July, August, and September, involving 30 participants. This was followed by a CAF B-License Course with 30 participants in April of this year. A Coach Educators’ Course was also held in July, including 25 participants.
