The Member representing Bida/Gbako/Katcha Federal Constituency of Niger State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Saidu Musa Abdullahi, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.

The decision followed consultations among party stakeholders across the constituency, with Abdullahi’s nomination receiving broad support from APC structures at various levels.

Expressing appreciation for his emergence, Abdullahi commended the leadership of the APC and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, describing the development as both a privilege and a responsibility.

He also paid tribute to the Governor of Niger State, Umar Mohammed Bago, crediting him with playing a key role in the consensus process and for his continued support for his political journey.

Abdullahi, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, said the governor’s encouragement and trust had remained a strong motivation in his legislative responsibilities and constituency engagement.

He described his emergence as a consensus candidate as a reflection of collective trust, noting that it reinforced his commitment to effective representation and grassroots development.

The lawmaker also acknowledged the contributions of traditional rulers, including the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, as well as district heads, community leaders, and religious authorities across Bida, Gbako and Katcha.

He further appreciated other aspirants and stakeholders for embracing dialogue and supporting the consensus arrangement, describing the outcome as a victory for party unity and stability.

Abdullahi appealed to his supporters to avoid inflammatory remarks or actions capable of undermining unity, stressing that the consensus arrangement was designed to strengthen cohesion within the party.

He pledged to continue working with all stakeholders across political and social divides to promote peace, development, and inclusive representation in the constituency.

Reaffirming his political alignment, Abdullahi expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that synergy with the federal government would help attract more development to the constituency and Niger State at large.
