Niger Education Varsity Gets Take-off Committee

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the constitution of the Implementation committee to ensure the smooth take-off of the newly licensed Niger State University of Education, Minna.

Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, said Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya of the University of Ibadan and former secretary to the state government is the chairman of the committee.

He said the governor had approved that the SSG serve as the co-chairman of the committee and Dr. Abdul Hussaini, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Lands, is the secretary.

Other members are provost of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Prof. Rasheed Haruna; provost, College of Education, Minna, Prof. Yakubu Mohammed Auna; former registrar, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Mohammed Datti Usman;  former head of service, Niger State, Barr. Abbas Bello; department of entrepreneurship, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Busrah Zakariyau, and deputy provost, academics, College of Education, Minna, Dr. Abubakar Bala Shehu.

There are also director, research and development, College of Education, Minna, Sule Ndako;  registrar, Edusosko University, Bida, Mrs. Azumi S.K. Ndayako; commissioners for tertiary education, budget and planning, permanent secretary, ministry for local government affairs, Hajiya Hassana Adamu, former commissioner for gender affairs, Dr. Dauda Mohammed Kontagora and Dr Sadiq Mohammed of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

The statement named members of the Secretariat as Dr. Murtala Bagana who is also the assistant secretary, Dr. Mamman Abubakar, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Mallam Yabagi Alfa, former registrar, College of Education, Minna and Engr. Abdullahi Ketso.
