The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has debunked recent publications on social media concerning recruitment and employment procedures.

The employment and recruitment procedures allegedly linked to OHCSF were described as false and should be disregarded.

In a statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations of OHCSF, Mrs Eno Olotu, the office said that the publications were undoubtedly the work of fake and fraudulent job racketeers and scammers.

The OHCSF stated that “All matters of recruitment and employment in the Federal Civil Service are statutorily under the purview of the Federal Civil Service Commission and any other government institution authorised to do so.

“All Federal Civil and Public Service employment opportunities will be published on official Government websites and portals.

“The person and institution referred to in the online publication do not exist.

The portal listed is neither that of the Federal Civil Service Commission (www.fcsc.gov.ng) nor the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (www.ohcsf.gov.ng).

“We advise the public to remain cautious and vigilant, as this is the most effective way to combat fraudulent recruitment schemes and unauthorised solicitations for payments in connection with Federal Civil Service employment.”

BY ABU NMODU, Minna

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja has constructed three classrooms and dug a borehole in Angbasa village, a rural community in Lavun local government area of Niger State.

The inauguration of the projects was performed yesterday and was done through the Special Intervention Civil Military Cooperation Projects at the Angbasa Nursery and Primary School.

The Chief of Army Staff said that apart from the renovation of the block of three classrooms, the intervention provided furniture for the pupils of the primary school.

Lagbaja who was represented by the commander, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigeria Army, Minna, Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, said that he embarked on the project to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning and encourage pupils to go to school.

The COAS said the gesture was to promote educational development in the community and the state, adding that the projects executed by the Nigerian Army are to complement the existing infrastructural drive of government at all levels through its civil-military operations.

He also said that the projects, which are spread across the country, were designed to provide support to communities of Nigerian Army senior officers who, through dedication to duty and service to the nation, have risen to the enviable rank of Major General.

Lagbaja said that the initiative was part of the commitment and determination of the Nigerian Army towards addressing the security challenges in the country through non-kinetic operations.

“This project was initiated to encourage education and our youths to embrace education. It is part of our commitments to provide support and complement the government’s efforts in infrastructural development,” he said.

The chief of Army Staff assured of his continued commitment to combat insecurity in the country while expressing optimism that the project would help to foster unity between the army and communities of operations.

On his part, the chief of Civil Military Affairs, Army Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. NC Igbo, represented by Brig. Gen. PD Koungha appealed to the community to make good use of the project.
