Nigerian Star, Nicole Payne, Joins PSG

Nigerian international, Nicole Payne, has completed her move to French Division 1 Féminine giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The defender put pen to paper on a three-year contract until June 2026, as she joined the Parisians from the USA’s collegiate team, West Virginia Mountaineers.

Payne, who was born in the USA to parents of Nigerian descent, explained that it was a dream come true after joining the 2020/21 French champions.

“It’s something I’ve always dreamed of,” Payne told the club’s official website.

“I became a professional player when I was a teenager, and I’ve grown up playing football since I was four, so to experience a moment like this is very special.

“I’m really grateful to be here.”

The 22-year-old full-back first played for the USA at U15, U16, U17 and U18 level before being called up to the Nigerian national team in 2021.

She has two caps for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
