Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in Ogun state, Olufemi Ajadi, has assured pensioners of a better deal if he emerges governor of the state.
He stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the state’s chapter of the National Union of Pensioners.
Ajadi, who was accompanied by members of his campaign team, promised to ensure that pensioners have a sense of belonging in his government.
He said an NNPP-led government in the state would work as a representative of pensioners in the government to ensure their interests would be well taken care of.
Ajadi assured them a robust health insurance policy whereby cards will be issued to pensioners for admittance and treatment in both public and private hospitals.
He also stated his commitment to clearing their outstanding gratuity within a short time.
According to him, he would look into the general welfare of pensioners so that they would not regret serving their homeland.
Earlier, the chairman of the pensioners, Comrade Samson Odebo, had expressed gratitude for the decision of Ajadi to visit them, saying it showed the level of respect he had for them.
His point was reiterated by the vice chairman, Mr. Ayinde Lister, while giving a vote of thanks.
An elderly pensioner, Alhaji Oyegunle, elated at Ajadi’s visit, grabbed his hand and fervently prayed for his success in the forthcoming election.
