The corporation said that the delayed period will be used to address all other operational issues relating to improved customer service, equipment safety practices and procedures.

According to statement, the period of extension would be used to address all other operational issues relating to improved customer service, equipment safety practices and procedures.

“The general public will recall that the management of the NRC temporarily suspended full rail services on the Warri Itakpe Train Services (WITS), on Thursday, 10th April, 2025, due to some technical/operational issues for safety, better customer service experience and improved operational efficiencies.

“The management of the Corporation, headed by Dr. Kayode Opeifa wishes to further inform the public that while we believe our technical team has resolved the major technical issue, we would require more time to provide the needed redundancies for sustainable operations in line with standard practise.”
