Amb. Solomon Adodo, President of the National Youth Council of Nigerian (NYCN) and Board Member, North Central Development Commission (NCNC) has rejected calls for the resignation of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the Senate President, describing those behind the calls as political opponents of the Tinubu administration.

Adodo made this known while appearing as a guest on Democracy Radio to discuss national issues and chart a way forward to Nigeria’s political challenges.
According to him, ” the harmonious relationship existing between the Executive and Legislature, especially the Senate is perceived by crisis entrepreneurs as a rubber stamp only because they are not seeing acrimony, strife and a power tussle between the respective arms of government. He however noted that for a nation to make progress there must be synergy between its organs.
“As a seasoned administrator, Senator Akpabio has championed good governance in all his national assignments. As Governor of Akwa Ibom, he was known for the uncommon transformation of the state both in infrastructure and human capital development.
“It was under his tenure as Minister that the first forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NCDC) was done, forcing contractors to return to site and huge sums of monies recovered. Akpabio’s leadership is indeed a model for good governance and even his critics can not deny that”.
“Unfortunately, from the word go, there has been opposition from those who felt uncomfortable with his smooth rapport with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Every word he spoke was twisted, every good intention deliberately manipulated by political detractors in order to be misunderstood by the citizenry. The propaganda machine devilishly set in at a frenetic pace. To think that Senator Akpabio was accused of benefiting from the electoral fraud of Professor Peter Ogban when he was actually a victim of Ogban’s criminality is unsettling”.
Amb. Solomon Adodo equally noted that as a crescendo of the propaganda against Sen. Akpabio, Sen. Natasha set out on a mission to tarnish the reputation of the Senate President and indeed the Tinubu government.
He dismissed the allegations of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as an obsession and a desperate attempt to smear one of Nigeria’s best leaders.
