Enyimba midfielder Chinedu Ofere has set his sights on adding to his goal tally after opening his account for the season in a dominant 3–0 victory over Shooting Stars on Sunday.
The People’s Elephant cruised to a convincing win in front of their home supporters in Aba, with Ofere setting the tone early. The midfielder struck a well-timed volley in the 16th minute to notch his first league goal of the campaign, before teammates Edidiong Ezekiel and Chidera Michael sealed the result with further finishes.
Speaking to the club’s media after the match, Ofere expressed satisfaction with his contribution and signaled his intent to become a more frequent scorer.
“I really did my best today,” Ofere remarked. “When the opportunity came, I connected well with the volley. I’m delighted it went in—my first of the season—and I believe there’s more to come by God’s grace.”
Beyond his personal milestone, the midfielder praised the collective effort against a competitive Shooting Stars side and emphasized the importance of finishing the year positively.
“We see this as just the beginning,” he added. “To end the year with a win against a solid team means a lot. Credit to them—they played well. It was a fantastic game overall, and we’re extremely pleased to take all three points.”
The victory reinforces Enyimba’s ambitions as the NPFL season progresses, with Ofere’s emerging form in front of goal offering an encouraging boost ahead of the second round of fixtures.
