The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, has been reelected, securing another term in office after first being elected in 2021.
The reelection took place on Monday during the Oyo State PDP Congress held at the basketball area of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The congress was attended by ward and local government executives, ad-hoc delegates, and party stakeholders from all the 33 local government areas of the state.
Speaking earlier at the event, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed confidence that the PDP would retain power in Oyo State beyond 2027 and reclaim the presidency in the next general election.
He praised the peaceful conduct of the party’s congresses from ward to state level, describing it as proof of the PDP’s respect for internal democracy.
