Co-founder of Automecho Global Services, Dr Ogunleye Oluwaduyilemi Oladayo, has been honoured as a United Nations Ambassador for Peace.
The honour was to appreciate Dr Ogunleye’s dedication to peace and sustainable development, which is transforming his immediate community and impacting the global society.
Alongside 31 other business professionals from diverse sectors across Nigeria, Oluwaduyilemi was decorated by Ambassador (Prof) Barika Saro-Laka, the secretary-general of the Association of United Nations Ambassadors for Peace (ASUNAP), who handed the certificate and plaque to commemorate the appointment.
The award ceremony took place at the Executive Leadership Summit organised by ASUNAP in conjunction with the Artificial Intelligence Management and Finance (AIMFIN) Institute in Ikeja, Lagos.
Accepting the appointment, Ogunleye expressed gratitude for the honour adding that the award was a call to responsibility in support of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNESCO’s global agenda for peace.
“I am excited to have been considered for this role by a global organisation. It encourages my work and character as an individual and a businessman. This platform will definitely allow me to further amplify the advocacy for world peace, especially in my capacity as the owner of one of Nigeria’s biggest automobile services providers,” Ogunleye said.
Prof. Saro-Laka, who facilitated the award ceremony, spoke on the theme, “Promoting the Essence of Nationalities for the Emergence of Global Peace and Sustainable Development in the Society.”
