Mr Kenny Okolugbo, the Consultant on Communications and Strategy to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has resigned his appointment.
Okolugbo conveyed resignation through a letter dated December 22, 2025, and addressed to the President of the Senate through the Chief of Staff, Barrister Chinedu Akubueze.
In the letter, he cited business and family commitments as reasons for his resignation, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve.
“I have enjoyed working with the team. I should also point out the privilege of being an adviser to the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Okolugbo stated.
“I am grateful for the opportunity I had to serve and wish the best to the President of the Senate as he continues to navigate the chairmanship of the National Assembly and the Senate in particular.”
The resignation takes effect from January 1, 2026.
Confirming the development, Barrister Akubueze said the Senate President has accepted the resignation and conveyed his best wishes to Okolugbo, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
