Oba Akanbi described the allegation as false while invoking curses on those linking him to illicit drug usage.

The Oluwo made the clarification through a viral video on social media where he was addressing a public gathering.

He maintained that the accusations were fabricated by individuals he considered unfortunate, stressing that divine punishment awaited those who spread such rumours.

Oba Akanbi declared that if he were indeed guilty of smoking marijuana, God should remove him from the throne, but insisted that the allegations were baseless.

“They are lying against me. They are unfortunate people. Unless I am smoking marijuana. If I’m a smoker, God should remove me from this throne. You, who are accusing me of being a smoker, God will punish you.”

The declaration followed the recent ruling of the Court of Appeal which upheld the monarch’s enthronement as the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland.

Oba Akanbi expressed joy over the court ruling, declaring that his reign was ordained by God and could not be undermined by human efforts.
