Ondo Decides: Aiyedatiwa Leads In 13 LGAs

Ondo State governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing gubernatorial election in the state, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is leading by a wide margin with announcement of 13 out of 18 local government results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Final collation of the governorship election results commenced at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital, around 12:35 am.

According to the results, Aiyedatiwa had polled a total of 259,851 votes so far while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi is trailing with 81,031 votes in the results announced so far.

The margin between the two leading candidates so far stands at 178,820 votes from the declared local governments.

The results were announced by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi who is the Returning Officer in the exercise.
