Meantime, a TV script on the trio’s investigative business takes them to Hollywood where they meet actors Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis and Eva Longoria cast to play the trio, who shadow them in preparation for their roles.

New series cast include Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis and Eva Longoria who play themselves, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy as Charles’ sister and Molly Shannon as a Hollywood agent/producer. Returning cast include Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, Oliver’s love interest, Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Detective Williams, and Jane Lynch as Sazz Pataki.

Racking up 1.9 million views less than two days after its release, the trailer has netizens excited and looking forward to its premiere.

“You know it’s fall when a new season of the show comes out. I love how it doesn’t take two years to get a new season. It just comes out every fall or end of summer,” said @lydiatingey3773.
