All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has offered to sponsor the education of the four children of a rainstorm victim up to the university level.
Oyebamiji made the pledge during a condolence visit to the family of late Jemilat Ganiyu in Osogbo, following her tragic death during a recent rainstorm that affected parts of the state.
Describing the visit as deeply emotional, the APC candidate expressed sympathy with the bereaved family, noting that although death is inevitable, the pain of a sudden loss is often overwhelming.
He prayed that almighty Allah grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In a gesture aimed at supporting the family and preserving the memory of the deceased, Oyebamiji announced that he would take full responsibility for the education of her four children through university.
To ensure transparency and continuity, he also directed the immediate opening of a dedicated bank account through which structured financial support would be disbursed for their academic needs.
Beyond the condolence visit, Oyebamiji also visited the victims of the rainstorm who are currently receiving treatment at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.
During the visit, he offered prayers for their speedy recovery and provided support for their treatment and rehabilitation.
He emphasised the need for compassion, collective responsibility, and responsive leadership, especially during times of crisis.
According to him, such moments highlight the importance of standing together as a people while working to build a safer, more resilient society.
