Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who gave the charge stressed the need for council members to come up with ideas that improve the operational standard of the institution and take them to enviable heights.
The governor spoke on Thursday in Ado Ekiti during the inauguration of the institutions’ governing council members.
The inaugurated council members are EKSU, with Prof. Akin Oyebode, as Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman, BOUESTI, with Prof Dipo Aina as Pro-Chancellor, Chairman of Council, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, as Chancellor and EKSUTH, with Dr. Adedamola Dada, as Council Chairman.

“Forge a way forward on how to end academic instability, student’s restiveness, unpaid salaries, bureaucratic slackness that makes it impossible to get certificate and transcript ready on time and a whole lot of problems that continue to confront the development of the institutions”.
He noted that the institutions were still faced with the challenges of meeting their emolument and overhead cost, just as institutional governance remained a big issue.
“The institutions must act rightly and cause a progressive change in the life of the institutions under their care.
“There has been too many instabilities in the academic calendar in the institutions, especially EKSU, which has greatly eroded stakeholder’s confidence in its stability and competitiveness”
“I urged the council to work towards ensuring stability in the academic calendar and full accreditation of programmes.”
He said the council members and management must strive to be on top of the league in research, endowment and training of globally competitive students.
Oyebode, who responded on behalf of the council members pledged their loyalty and commitment to their new assignment.
