A student of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Collins Whitworth, has attempted to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most faces painted in three minutes.

The event took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the university’s new campus in Kano, with sponsorship from Indomie.

Whitworth painted 17 faces in 2 minutes 40 seconds during his first attempt, repeated the same number in 2 minutes 50 seconds in his second, and painted 20 faces in 2 minutes 55 seconds in his third attempt. The current record of 12 faces is held by Slovakia’s Emilia Zakonnova, set on July 30, 2025.

Speaking after the attempt, Whitworth said he was motivated by a desire to showcase Nigerian talent.

“I learned a lot from my first attempt in 2024. This time, I was prepared and focused. With Indomie backing me, I believe we can make history together,” he said.

Fellow students and other witnesses expressed support for his effort. BUK student Sulaiman Haruna said, “I pray Collins wins because he performed excellently today.” Another student, Aisha, said she was impressed by his speed, while attendee Jimoh Momoh described the attempt as “remarkable.”

Indomie, in a statement, said it was proud to sponsor the event as part of its support for youth creativity and entrepreneurship.

Guinness World Records is expected to review and confirm the attempt before Whitworth can be officially declared a world record holder.
