PICTORIAL: Kwankwaso, Gwarzo Meet Obasanjo As Ex-President Visits Kano

The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the party’s governorship candidate in Kano State, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, on Thursday night, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Kano.

The visit was disclosed in a Facebook post on Friday morning by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan.

Hassan wrote, “His Excellency, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the NDC, this night paid a courtesy visit to a statesman and former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, at the latter’s residence in Kano.”

He added that, “Former President Obasanjo is currently in Kano on an official assignment and also the visit provided an opportunity for warm exchanges, with Sen. Kwankwaso accompanied by His Excellency Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the NDC Governorship Candidate for Kano State.”

The actual purpose of the meeting was not disclosed, and neither the former president nor any of the NDC leaders made any public statement on the outcome of their discussions.
