The Police operatives also recovered a substantial quantity of suspicious substance believed to be human blood.

A statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Munsir Hassan, said the operation conducted on April 6, 2024, was initiated based on intelligence gathered from a reliable source and acting swiftly on the received information, Police operatives moved into action at about 0300 hours after reports indicated unusual activities in the rocky and mountainous region of Dumbi along the Kaduna-Zaria Expressway in the State.

The Police spokesman noted that during the raid, a total of seven suspects were arrested, while others managed to evade arrest under the cover of darkness, adding that items seized from the arrested suspects included two pistols, a 30-litre jerrycan containing a liquid suspected to be blood, and a Lexus car believed to be associated with their criminal activities.

Meanwhile, the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Audu Dabigi, has commended the cooperation and vigilance of the community in providing crucial information leading to the successful operation while reiterating the Command’s unwavering commitment to rooting out criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of all residents of the State.

The Police spokesperson disclosed that efforts were currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who fled the scene.
