“I want to start by thanking all members of the private sector for the confidence and trust they have shown. It was a moment of pride when we signed the MoU for the reconstruction of Hill Station Hotel, and we have taken another significant step with the MoU for Plateau Hotels.”

“We have numerous assets that have remained underutilised for years, and now, we are turning them around for the better. I’m pleased to see the hospitality sector in Plateau State proving to be resilient and attractive. Restoring the symbol of our pride is a commendable achievement,” he added.

Mutfwang explained that the reconstruction effort will not only enhance the state’s beauty but also attract tourists seeking quality accommodation in Plateau State. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment.

Meanwhile, managing director of PIPC, Hon. Danlami Jelka, gave an overview of the Heads of Terms, noting that upon completion, the hotel will adhere to international standards, thereby elevating the hospitality offerings of the state.

He explained that eleven firms indicated interest in the rigorous process by submitting proposals. However, Aviare Global Concepts emerged the winner in view of the robustness of its financial and technical plans.

Hon. Jelka said  both parties  agreed that the lease term shall be an initial 20 years commencing from the date of the Refurbishment, Rehabilitation, Operation and Transfer. The project when completed will create employment opportunities for the youths, revenue generation to boost the state’s economy, Asset Optimisation, profit sharing and annual lease fee among others.

Chairman of Aviare Global Concepts Limited, Kudla Satumari, said his company has an impressive 31-year track record of successful national and international projects. He assured the state of his commitment to deliver quality results:

“I have never failed to meet my targets, and I am committed to completing this project to the admiration of all. I urge the Plateau State government to offer the necessary support to ensure we meet the agreed specifications and timelines.”

This marks a new chapter for Plateau State, as the administration continues to leverage private sector partnerships to harness the state’s tourism potential. General manager, Plateau State Tourism Corporation, Chuwang Pwajok was part of the signatories to the Heads of Terms.
