Operatives of Oko-Odo Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old woman, Funmi Faith on the accusation of maltreating a female child said to be an orphan.

In the now-viral video, the woman who had instructed the child to take her bath on the street as she stood by, was challenged by a neighbour for her inhumane act.

However, Faith hurled insults at the male neighbour who captured the abuse on video with visible bruises on the child depicting that she had been abused.

The 32-year-old Faith further dared the neighbour to report what transpired to the Lagos State government.

Confirming her arrest, Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed that the woman is presently in police custody.

He stated, “The woman captured in a now-viral video maltreating a female child, 32-year-old Funmi Faith, has been arrested.
