Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has said addressing the challenges of policy implementation is imperative to achieving Education Agenda 2030.
Otti stated this while declaring open the 82nd Plenary Meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee on Education in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
He said sequel to this, the meeting is expected to have robust discussions on the relevant strategies and approaches for addressing the challenges.
Represented by the commissioner for education, Uche Eme-Uche, he added that achieving the agenda requires collaboration among governments, international organisations and other stakeholders.
“This event is an auspicious opportunity for us as a state to declare our readiness to partner with all stakeholders in the sector at national and international levels to attain the Education Agenda 2030,” he noted.
In his remarks, the permanent secretary, federal ministry of education, David Adejo Andrew reiterated the commitment of the present administration in the country towards achieving the agenda.
Represented by the director, education planning, research and development in the ministry, Adeleye Adeoye, he expressed appreciation to the state government for hosting the meeting.
The 5-day programme has as its theme: Addressing the challenges of policy implementation: A panacea for the achievement of Education 2030 agenda.
The programme which is being organized by the state ministry of education in collaboration with the federal ministry of education has participants drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
