Prosecutors have alleged that a significant amount of child pornography was found on the phone of American singer D4vd, following a court hearing on Thursday.
The singer appeared in court for a status hearing exactly one year after the alleged murder of teenager Celeste Rivas. During the session, the prosecution stated that an investigation into D4vd’s iPhone revealed the illicit content, though it remains unclear if the images featured the victim.
The court also heard that a wiretap was used during the year-long investigation into the singer’s activities. D4vd, who appeared in a jail jumpsuit and remained calm throughout the hearing, spoke only briefly to confirm he understood the legal process.
The singer was arrested last week and faces several serious charges, including murder, sexual acts with a minor, and mutilation of a human body.
Prosecutors claim the singer killed Celeste after she threatened to expose their relationship, which allegedly began when she was under the age of 14. It is further alleged that her remains were kept in the trunk of a car for several months following the incident.
D4vd has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His defence team has challenged the prosecution to present its evidence, leading the judge to set a preliminary hearing for May 1.
