In a fast-evolving digital world, access to structured learning and mentorship can define the trajectory of a designer’s career. For many aspiring UX and product designers across Africa, that game-changer has been the UX Resource Incubator, a community-first platform founded by Prosper Nwafor, a Nigerian product designer and tech entrepreneur.
What started as a passion project is now a pan-African digital resource hub impacting thousands of designers. The UX Resource Incubator has helped over 9,000 aspiring designers across Africa discover and pursue their passion for user experience and product design.
“When I was starting, the design landscape was fragmented. There was no clear roadmap. I had a background in computer science and went through the Google UX Certificate program, which gave me a good foundation,” Prosper shares. “But I realized many people weren’t that fortunate. Most were overwhelmed with scattered resources and no structure. That’s what inspired the UX Resource Incubator.”
At its core, the UX Resource Incubator provides a structured, practical learning path. It’s not just another online collection of design links. It’s a curated platform with:
•Step-by-step learning guides tailored for beginners
•Mentorship opportunities and access to thriving UX communities
•Personalized projects and portfolio-building challenges
•Design inspiration and niche discovery tools
•Mobile-optimized interface for easy access on the go
The website, offers free and easy access to tools that allow users to learn UX design, build their first portfolio, and even find their niche in the vast UX space—whether that’s research, interaction design, product strategy, or visual design.
Since its launch, the Incubator has been credited with multiple UX career success stories from countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, and Egypt. It has become a launchpad for young African creatives, empowering them to transition into tech roles, land freelance gigs, and secure design internships globally.
Designers who previously felt lost in the sea of online information now have a compass—a structured roadmap that helps them build real skills and confidence.
“Having a roadmap is everything,” Prosper explains. “Without it, people jump from one random tutorial to another, wasting valuable time. A roadmap gives clarity and helps you track growth. That’s what the UX Resource Incubator delivers.”
Prosper’s impact isn’t limited to digital platforms—he’s also deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of African tech talent through hands-on mentorship. As a mentor at Genesys Tech Hub, one of Nigeria’s leading innovation hubs, Prosper provides guidance, portfolio reviews, and career support to aspiring designers navigating their early stages in tech.
His mentorship emphasizes practical growth, storytelling through design, and developing the mindset needed to succeed globally. Many young designers credit his approach as pivotal in shaping their confidence, design thinking, and clarity of direction.
“Mentorship is one of the purest forms of giving back,” Prosper notes. “It’s not just about teaching design—it’s about inspiring possibility and building people.”
Through the UX Resource Incubator and his role at Genesys Tech Hub, Prosper continues to bridge the gap between raw potential and real opportunity, staying true to his mission of empowering young Africans to dream, design, and lead with impact.
With the UX Resource Incubator and other initiatives, Prosper is building more than just platforms—he’s building futures. His work is a clear example of how tech leaders can combine innovation, inclusivity, and impact, creating opportunities for the next generation of African talent.
As he continues to grow his influence, Prosper remains rooted in purpose: making design accessible, structured, and impactful for everyone—no matter their background.
