Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), has congratulated the newly promoted officers, reminding them that their new ranks imposed on them a burden of greater commitment to national duty.

Argungu said their promotion came at the right time when they were expected to be properly motivated to put in their best in the service of their fatherland.

He also noted that Nigeria is currently undergoing some positive restructuring which may have come with temporary discomfort and anger of the people, but called on the officers to join hands in ensuring that the nation’s nascent democracy is preserved.

The PSC Chairman also promised that the commission will continue to ensure timely and predictable promotions in the Nigeria Police Force, adding that this gesture should however not be taken for granted.

He said the affected officers must reciprocate the gesture by conducting themselves within the established laws and ensuring that banditry and terrorism are eliminated.
