In a bold move towards bridging Nigeria’s professional skills gap, fast rising Nigerian real estate investment and development firm, Square Metres Construction Ltd has launched Square Metres Academy, a training initiative aimed to equip aspiring professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the property sector.

The 7-day free training programme slated to run from April 5 to April 11, 2026, will equip participants with practical knowledge across key areas of the real estate ecosystem. The programme is expected to cover topics including real estate marketing strategies, property investment education, land acquisition processes, and professional ethics in the industry.

Oghe Ogheneriode, the CEO of Square Metres, said the academy aims to nurture a new generation of real estate professionals in Africa by combining practical learning with industry insights and mentorship.

“We believe that the future of the industry depends on this educational foundation. Real estate is one of the most powerful wealth-building tools, but knowledge is the critical differentiator. We aren’t just teaching people how to sell land; we are training them to be advisors who can build lasting legacies for their clients. At Square Metres Real Estate Academy, our goal is to ensure that the next generation of African realtors is defined by competence and integrity” Ogheneriode emphasised.

Across Africa, real estate continues to emerge as one of the most powerful drivers of economic growth and wealth creation. Yet, despite the sector’s rapid expansion, access to structured education and professional training in real estate remains limited for many aspiring professionals.

The training seeks to address this challenge by creating a learning environment where participants can gain industry-relevant knowledge and better understand the dynamics of the real estate market.

The Academy has been structured to combine theory with practical experience to bridge the knowledge gap in the real estate sector while creating opportunities for aspiring professionals across Nigeria and other parts Africa interested in pursuing careers in property development, land investment, and real estate marketing

According to Seun Ezra, the Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing Lead at Square Metres, real estate represents a promising career path with significant growth potential. Yet entering the industry often requires mentorship, guidance, and access to professional networks. This training aims to provide these opportunities by connecting participants with a community of professionals

“The Academy acts as a bridge between aspiration and professional execution. Our goal is to create a community where learning doesn’t end in the classroom. By building this network, we are empowering individuals to not just find jobs, but to lead the industry. In today’s market, a realtor’s ability to communicate value digitally is just as important as the property itself, We are integrating advanced digital marketing, content strategy, and corporate communication into our training to ensure our graduates can compete on a global stage” Ezra stated.

Square Metres Academy has curated a list of respected experts who understand the intersection of technology and property to facilitate the training sessions, ensuring a high standard of education and practical insights. Facilitators include industry leaders like Emeya Friday, CEO of Geofort Homes and Property Ltd; Olugbenga Orogbangba, CEO of Resawe Homes and Property Ltd; Adejare Michael Adetomiwa, CEO of Mikeland Homes and Properties; Gabriel Olayemi, Lead Partner of Digihub Solutions; Oghe Ogheneriode, CEO of Square Metres; Seun Ezra, the Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing Lead of Square Metres; and Beauty Harrison, Dean of Square Metres Academy.

Ogheneriode urged aspiring professionals and individuals interested in building a career in real estate to register for upcoming sessions through Square Metres Academy, where participants can gain practical industry insights, mentorship opportunities, and access to a growing network of property professionals shaping the future of the sector.
