Hon Bello el-Rufai, member representing Kaduna North in the House of Representatives and son of the immediate governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufa’i, has said though his father was his number one role model and Governor Uba Sani his boss, reconciling them was not his responsibility.

This is even as he alleged that some people are delighted seeing his father and the governor of Kaduna State enmeshed in a conflict, just like the legendary Bollywood actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Darmendra fighting.

According to the lawmaker, his primary assignment was to give the people of Kaduna North Federal constituency quality representation.

Hon el-Rufai bared his mind in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, monitored by our correspondent in Kaduna on Saturday.

It would be recalled that Hon el-Rufai was Governor Sani’s aide when he represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the Senate before he was elected in 2023 as a federal lawmaker representing Kaduna North constituency.

Lately, the impasse between Governor Sani and the former governor of the state, Malam el-Rufai escalated leading to verbal attacks over an allegation by Governor Sani that his predecessor left large amount of debt for him, such that the state government was finding it difficult to even pay the salaries of workers.

Hon el-Rufai who until now never spoke on the matter, warned however that if he decided to fight any course in the social media, it would definitely be fierce as he had exemplified previously.

He said that he was not happy with what was happening between his father and the current governor Uba considering the role both played in his life.

Hon e-lRufai said that none of them came out and spoke unkindly about the other in his presence, but Mallam el-Rufa’i recently responded to Governor Sani on social media as some of the words of the governor seemed unpleasant to him.

The two people who were close friends, had things abruptly changed since the change of government and the conflict arose and had continued to grow after Uba Sani took over leadership and since then, the issue of el-Rufai’s government’s investigation on how his government spent money during its time began to be discussed, which showed signs of conflict between them.
