Actress Regina Hall had hinted about it over a year before, but it is here now. Scary Movies 6 is confirmed and will premiere in cinemas on June 12.

The movie still does what it does best, leaning harder into the ridiculous, with Ghost Face – the film’s main and indestructible villain, disguised as Megan, a stabbed character arguing about her preferred pronoun, and side characters refusing to help the killer’s victim because “she is on break.”

Brenda (Hall) and Cindy (Faris) reunite alongside other returning favourites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, sequels, spin-offs, origin stories, and every ‘final chapter’ that absolutely isn’t final.

Produced by Wayan brothers and the Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), and stars Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Carmen Electra, Jon Abrahams, Cheri Oteri, among others.

The trailer released on March 2 by Paramount Pictures had fans doubly excited.

“You know you have made it in the horror genre when Scary Movie parodies your film,” @revelare_xvii6269

“Cindy and Brenda are the most iconic horror girls,” @BobbyTheDogGuy.

“Somehow Brenda keeps coming back to life, and these besties keep finding their way back to each other! That’s got to count for something, I agree. At this point, these two are iconic!” @jairusjackson7799

The first ‘Scary Movie’ was released in 2000, followed by the second in 2001, and the third instalment in 2003. 2006 saw the release of the fourth movie, and Scary Movie 5 in 2013. The latest movie took the longest time to make of the franchise, with a 14-year gap between the prequel.
