The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has confirmed that there is a plot to arrest it’s chieftain and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

ADC publicity secretary in the state, Chief Luckyman Egila disclosed this on Friday in a chat with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Egila stated that as the major opposition political party in the country, ADC and it’s chieftains have become main targets of the government.

“Well, you call it a rumour, but this is politics and we cannot write it off. Remember that El-Rufai was arrested by DSS and they seem to be after everybody that they see as opposition.

“As you know in Nigeria now, the African Democratic Congress is the main opposition political party that is out to unseat the ruling party. We cannot write it off that there is no plot. They are actually out to arrest whoever that is capable of opposing the or defeating them.

“African Democratic Congress is a law abiding political party, we are yet to hear if they will arrest him publicly or anything.

“We are watching for now. We hope that they are not going to get to that edge because Nigerians are also watching,” he said.
