The Rotary Club of Abuja Kubwa Gateway has commissioned and handed over a set of educational and sanitation projects to Junior Secondary School Kubwa 1 to improve educational infrastructure and the welfare of students and teachers through its commitment to community development and support for quality education.

The projects delivered by the Rotary Club included a WASH/restroom facility for female teachers, a renovated classroom and a donation of 20 study desks to the school.

According to the club, the intervention was aimed at addressing pressing needs in sanitation, infrastructure and learning materials.

During the handover ceremony, the club’s president, Sunday O. Fasipe, described the event as another significant achievement in Rotary’s commitment to impactful humanitarian service. Addressing the dignitaries, including district officials, community leaders, school authorities, teachers, students, and Rotarians, he stated that the projects were designed to support learning, promote hygiene, and foster a conducive environment for academic excellence.

Fasipe emphasised that education thrives in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, stressing that every child deserves dignity, comfort, and access to quality learning facilities. He noted that the WASH facility, renovated classroom, and study desks would greatly improve the welfare of both teachers and students.

He also commended the Rotary Club’s members for their dedication, noting that the intervention aligned with Rotary’s focus on education, sanitation, and community development.

The district governor for Rotary District 9127 for the 2025–2026 Rotary Year, Joy Nky Okoro, spoke about the impact of the projects and how they reflect strong support for grassroots service initiatives.
