England international Bukayo Saka has solidified his long-term commitment to Arsenal, signing a new five-year contract that extends his stay at the club until 2031. This lucrative agreement reportedly positions Saka as the Gunners’ highest-paid player, with sources suggesting weekly wages exceeding £300,000.
The new deal, verbally agreed upon in January after almost a year of negotiations, ensures the 24-year-old winger will dedicate his prime years to Arsenal. His previous contract, signed in 2023, was set to expire in 2027.
This announcement delivers a significant boost to Arsenal as they contend for silverware on four fronts, aiming for their first trophy since 2020. It also continues the club’s strategy of securing key talents on extended contracts, following new deals for William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly last summer.
Saka, who debuted for the first team in 2018 after graduating from Arsenal’s academy, has made 217 Premier League appearances, scoring 57 goals. This season, he has netted seven goals in 33 appearances. He is anticipated to be a part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup in June, having already scored 14 goals in 48 caps.
Arsenal currently holds a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League. They are also scheduled to face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final in March, have advanced to the Champions League knockout stages, and are in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
