Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar, have accepted invitations to join US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace,” according to a joint statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which also included the United Arab Emirates (UAE) among the participating countries.
The statement noted that each participating country will formalise its membership by signing accession documents in line with its respective legal and constitutional procedures.
Kuwait has also confirmed its acceptance of the invitation, with its foreign ministry separately announcing the decision.
The Board of Peace is an initiative launched by President Trump as part of his broader foreign policy agenda, aimed at creating a platform through which selected countries would collaborate on conflict mediation and global peace efforts.
The initiative is intended to complement diplomatic engagement on international crises, though its structure and operational framework were yet to be fully detailed publicly.
Trump has reportedly extended invitations to dozens of world leaders to join the body. However, some diplomats and international observers have expressed concerns that the initiative could overlap with, or potentially undermine, existing multilateral mechanisms, particularly the work of the United Nations (UN).
