The party also assured old members promising to ensure their security against any snare or threats by the new members of the party, noting that the SDP will abide by the core principles of rule of law, fair play and justice in all in its dealings with all members of the party old and new.

Speaking during a press conference at the party’s secretariat in Yola, Hon. Ibrahim Ahidjo Karlahi, the publicity secretary of the party in Adamawa State, said, SDP is the only political party poised to ensure the institutionalisation of core democratic values of probity and accountability in its dealings with Nigerians.

“We stand today at a defining moment in our state and national political history. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is experiencing an unprecedented wave of public support, as citizens from across Adamawa and beyond are joining our great party in search of a credible platform that genuinely represents their aspirations.

“To all our new members, we extend a heartfelt welcome! The SDP is a party that listens, values your contributions, and prioritises your interests. You have made the right decision by joining a movement committed to justice, fairness, and progress. We assure you that SDP remains the most democratic and inclusive political party in Nigeria, offering a level playing field for all.

“We want to reassure our dedicated party executives and stakeholders that the influx of new members, regardless of their influence, does not threaten existing positions or weaken leadership. Instead, it strengthens our collective resolve to build a more formidable political force capable of securing victory in the 2027 general elections at both the state and national levels,” he said.

The publicity secretary noted that the new momentum being witnessed in the party does not occur by accident but a result of the tireless efforts by the party’s leadership, both at the national and state levels.

“Our National Chairman, Alh. Shehu Musa Gabam, and our State Chairman, Alh. Abubakar Yusuf, have worked diligently to position SDP as a viable alternative for Nigerians seeking real political change. Their dedication to the ideals of democracy has made SDP a beacon of hope for the people.

“As we welcome new members, it is essential that we all work together—longstanding and recent members alike—to strengthen our party. We reaffirm our confidence in our State, Local Government, and Ward Executives, who have shown unwavering dedication to the party’s growth. Their leadership remains intact and will continue to guide our collective journey toward political success,” he said.
