The Sole Administrator who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, said the meeting was timely to keep him abreast with the welfare and security challenges faced by various LGAs in the state and to proffer solution to them.

He noted that security is everyone’s business and urged the administrator of Omuma LGA, Ikechi Nwala to hold frequent town hall meetings with law enforcement agents, traditional rulers, political leaders, women groups and youth leaders in their area to ensure total peace and order in the area.

The sole administrator charged stakeholders to identify non-functional but impactful projects for his administration’s attention and called on the youths and community to protect government facilities in their area.

In his remarks, administrator of Omuma LGA, Nwala, appealed to Ibas to establish more Police posts in the council to ensure adequate security of lives and property of its citizens.

Nwala also stated that land grabbing, political motivated arrest of Omuma sons and daughters as well as illegal oil bunkering were major challenges facing the LGA.

He alleged that the illegal activities were mostly perpetrated by those he identified as intruders from neighbouring Abia State.
