The Senate is currently in a closed-door or executive session on Thursday afternoon apparently to sort out some issues ahead of disclosing the Ministerial nominees sent to it for screening and confirmation by President Bola Tinubu.

Senate President, God’swill Akpabio, had arrived the chamber at about 12 noon. The plenary begun at some minutes past 12 noon.

The Senate’s official time of sitting is 10am even though the timing relatively fluctuates between 10am and 11.30am.

LEADERSHIP reports President Tinubu had nominated the immediate-past governors of Rivers, Kaduna, Osun and Cross River States as Ministers. The nominees are Nyesom Wike, Nasir E-Rufai, Gboyega Oyetola, and Ben Ayade respectively.

Others believed to be on the Ministerial List to be unveiled on the floor of the Senate this Thursday afternoon include President Tinubu’s top aide, Dele Alake; Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; APC national woman leader, Dr. Betta Edu; former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Wale Edun; ex-Minister of State for Health, Prof. Ali Pate, and ex-deputy governor of CBN, Adebayo Adelabu, from Oyo State.

Apart from the above names, the identities of about 30 other ministerial nominees from different States of the federation will be revealed shortly at the Senate plenary.

LEADERSHIP reports that Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, had two days ago said the President personally told him the Ministerial List will be ready by Thursday, hence he needed Nigerians’ prayer to make the right choice.
