Nigerian singer and songwriter, Crayon, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, has opened up on his past struggle with mental health.
The singer made this known during a livestream with Nigerian streamer and content creator Carter Efe.
The ‘Baami’ singer disclosed that he had mental health issues in 2022 as a result of family pressure and the music industry.
The young musician said in the stream, “In 2022, I had mental health issues from all sorts of stress; family, industry, trying to be number one stress,” adding that he was hospitalised for a long therapy session, and it was when he came out of it that he launched the songs ‘Labalaba’ and ‘Overloading’.
The young musician explained that he was attempting to meet expectations and demands and make progress in the music sector. However, these events all culminated in the singer’s breakdown.
