About 150 students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, have been equipped with practical skills in academic development, career-readiness, digital communication and personal productivity.

The two-day maiden programme of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Student Chapter of the university attracted undergraduates and postgraduate students, faculty members and invited facilitators.

The participants were engaged in hands-on sessions designed to strengthen their academic and professional competencies while enhancing the visibility of the ACS chapter within the university community.

At the event, the faculty advisor of the chapter, Uchechi Bliss Onyedikachi, presented an overview of the ACS, highlighting its mission, vision and global influence.

She encouraged students to leverage opportunities such as scholarships, grants, research resources and international professional networks to improve their academic profiles and global engagement.

‎The participants were taken on various topics by the faculty advisor and the resource persons including Augustine Igbozulike and Dubem Obiora.

‎Speaking with LEADERSHIP Weekend, one of the participants, Joy Aham, expressed appreciation to the advisor, the chapter and the ACS, saying the programme has further enriched her knowledge.
