The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, South East zone has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the naira redesign policy for his successor.

Miyetti Allah leader in the zone, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki said that the prevailing increase in the pump price of petroleum products, particularly premium motor spirit, PMS, coupled with the scarcity has caused Nigerians severe hardship stating that adding another hardship through the implementation of new naira note redesignation would make the situation unbearable for the citizens.

Siddiki stated that the naira notes redesignation policy is the handiwork of some politicians working in and around the Presidency who deliberately want to paint Buhari black in the twilight of his administration.

He called on the president to suspend the policy as he did when he suspended the implementation of the RUGA settlements project under the National Livestock Transformation Plan in 2019, because Nigerians are not happy with him over the current situation in the country ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Sidikki said the redesigning of the naira denomination policy has brought the value very low in the international community.

“As I speak to you now, Nigerians are putting all the blames on Buhari, because he is the President. Similar situation happened in 1984, when he was the military head of state and there was a lot of anger and hatred against him. And now it has happened again in his democratic administration. The person or group of persons that sell this idea to Mr. President, does not love him,” he added.
