Speaker Abbas Mourns Niger Accident Victims

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed sorrow over the death of almost 50 people and more than 50 cows in an accident that occurred in Niger State.

A petrol tanker had exploded after colliding with another articulated vehicle in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred along Lapai-Agaie, 2km from Dendo Community in Agaie Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

The Speaker, who commiserated with the families of the victims, the government and the people of Niger State, described the accident as unfortunate.

Abbas, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa  Krishi, also extended his condolences to the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago.

The Speaker, who prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims, urged road users, especially drivers, to be more careful as losses to road accidents are becoming too much.
