In a thrilling final held over the weekend, Leon and Orion FC triumphed over New Generation Football Club with a score of 6-3, earning them a prize of N500,000 for their victory in the Ikorodu qualifiers.
Both finalists have secured their spots for the main tournament, while Evergrin Football Club claimed the third qualifying position after narrowly defeating Marine Boys Football Club in the third-place match.

The prize distribution saw New Generation FC take home N300,000, while Evergrin FC received N100,000. As the team with the highest number of goals scored, champions Leon and Orion FC were awarded an additional N50,000. Oluwafemi Famakinwa, the top scorer of the Ikorodu divisional qualifiers, was also recognized with a N50,000 reward. A remarkable total of 94 goals were scored across eight matches in the Ikorodu division.

Program Manager Akin Odunsi Eshinlokun expressed his enthusiasm for the level of talent and skill displayed by the teams during the qualifiers in Ikorodu.

He remarked, “The eight teams in Ikorodu truly represented themselves well. Considering the qualified teams from this division and the performances we witnessed in Ikeja the previous week, I confidently assert that the best teams are advancing to the state tournament later this year.”
