Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, best known as ‘Spyro’, has expressed concerns about the state of society, saying his experiences over the past two months have led him to question the level of love and compassion among Nigerians.

In an Instagram post, the singer said he was worried about the country’s moral values. He argued that many people now put their own interests first, blaming the trend on poor upbringing and declining values.

He said:

“Parents have raised selfish children, and now selfish people are everywhere in the country.”

The singer, who has recently spoken out about the abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State, ended his message with a call for change.

He urged Nigerians to show more love and compassion. According to him, the growing lack of empathy and unity is harming the country.

His words on Instagram:

“If there is anything the past few months have revealed to me, it is that LOVE is absent in our NATION, parents have raised selfish children, and now it’s selfish people everywhere, politicians, Pastors, Imams, Celebrities, workers, etc., everyone cares only for themselves, from leadership to citizenship 💔lives of men now mean nothing here …
I pray there, oh lord restore LOVE in our hearts, as lack of it has destroyed US💔.”
