Stakeholders Advocate Enhanced Maternal Child Health

Stakeholders have advocated more awareness on the crucial issues related to maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) in Nigeria.
To this end, there is a call for collaborative efforts focused on implementing practical solutions to improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes nationwide.
This remark was disclosed at the Together Summit on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The CEO Eden Ventures Group, Fifehan Osikanlu emphasized the importance of collective action in transforming maternal and child healthcare.
She said, “The Transforming Together Summit represents a crucial moment where stakeholders unite to address challenges and envision a future where every mother and child receives the care they deserve.”
The project’s objectives include raising awareness for the struggles faced by underprivileged mothers and children, fostering open dialogues, for policy implementation, and developing sustainable solutions through advancements in medical infrastructure and innovations.

Other objectives include uniting key stakeholders and harnessing the power of community action, and bridging the gap between innovation and impact as well as paving the way for a brighter future for newborns in Nigeria.
The panelists and participants at the session pointed out challenges and barriers affecting Maternal Child Health Care as they advocated for innovative approaches to chart a path towards sustainable solutions to enhance maternal child healthcare outcomes in Nigeria.

Notable speakers at the summit included Dr Salma Anas, special adviser to the President on Health; Uju Anwukah, special adviser to the President on Health, Office of the Vice President; Aisha Bubah, Certified Psychologist and Executive Director of The Sunshine Series; Halima Mason, Director of Wellness, Nigerian Mental Health; Isaiah Owolabi, co-founder of HACEY Health Initiative, and others.
