Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has hit back at her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing him of manipulation, abuse, and deceit, just hours after the Delta North lawmaker publicly alleged that she was battling drug addiction and that her brother, Sammy West, had been harassing his family.

In a lengthy statement shared on her Instagram page in the early hours of Sunday, Regina described Ned’s claims as “open lies” and accused him of trying to isolate and control her by tarnishing her family’s reputation.

“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this,” she wrote.

“You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.”

Regina, 26, admitted to using drugs but said Ned was exploiting that admission to distract the public from the real issues that led to their marital breakdown.

“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote..“The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media, something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”

She accused the Senator of weaponising her vulnerability and using law enforcement to arrest and intimidate her loved ones.

“You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to,” she said.

“Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go. That has always been your strategy— break people down, make them weak and powerless, and then have your way with them.”

In a stunning twist, Regina accused Ned of hypocrisy, claiming that he once encouraged her substance use because he found her more attractive when she was high.

“You say you want me to go for rehab, but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high,” she alleged.

“You liked me that way because it made me wild and romantic, exactly how you wanted me to be.”

She further alleged sexual assault, emotional abuse, and forced confinement during their relationship.

“Why don’t you also tell them how you force yourself on me whenever I say no?” Regina asked.

“Why don’t you tell them how you lock me up, seize my phones, and suddenly declare me ‘mentally unstable’ the moment I say I no longer want to be in this relationship?”

According to the actress, Ned allegedly forced her to take medications meant for mental health patients.

“Why don’t you also tell them how you lock me up and tell doctors to inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she wrote.

Regina also dropped a major revelation about the legality of their union, insisting that there was never a formal marriage between them.

“I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us,” she said..“We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”

She emphasised that the money and material support Ned claimed to have spent on her and her family could never outweigh the personal sacrifices she made during their relationship.

“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you, my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you,” she wrote.

Regina’s response came within hours after the lawmaker published a lengthy statement on X (formerly Twitter) accusing her brother, Sammy West, of harassment, drug abuse, and repeatedly disrupting his home.

He also alleged that Regina had been undergoing rehabilitation for substance use, blaming her siblings and friends for sabotaging her treatment.

“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff,” Nwoko wrote.

“When Regina started her rehabilitation, her siblings constantly defied doctors’ instructions and smuggled in drugs she was being treated for.”

The senator further claimed he had financially supported Regina’s family with over ₦125 million in recent years and accused her brother of “violent behaviour and addiction.”

However, Regina’s Instagram statement paints a dramatically different picture, one of alleged emotional control, abuse, and manipulation.

“You are feeling rejected and hurt, and you are struggling to make peace with the fact that it’s all over,” she concluded.
