The Nasarawa State government says it has taken delivery of its share of the federal government’s much-awaited palliative meant to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on the masses.
Governor Abdullahi Sule disclosed this during a visit to the speaker of the House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi at his residence in Lafia yesterday.
Sule said the state and federal governments were not unaware of the anticipation by citizens to benefit from the palliatives promised by President Bola Tinubu to mitigate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy.
He said the palliatives would be rolled out the moment commissioner nominees are inaugurated next week.
He commended the federal government for the intervention while promising its judicious distribution for the benefit of the people.
He commended the speaker and his colleagues for the speedy confirmation of the commissioner nominees and assured of continued good working relationship.
The governor urged the lawmakers to support the minister-designate from the State, Mrs Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim to enable her succeed in her new assignment.
He said plans were on to replace the commissioner nominee from Nassarawa Eggon local government, Mr Haruna Musa, who was indisposed for confirmation due to cogent reasons.
He said he was worried when he learned of the ill health and had to paid him a visit as soon as he returned from U.S.

“May God continue to keep us together in unity and good health,” the governor said.
Responding, the speaker appreciated the governor for the visit and wished him quick recovery just as he called for the sustained relationship.
He assured the governor of the commitment of the lawmakers to initiating legislations that will improve the business of governance for the growth and development of the state.
