‘The Wild Robot’, a DreamWorks Animation nominated for the 2025 Oscars Best Animated Feature has been nominated for the Scripter Awards.
Presented by the USC Library of Councilors, the annual Awards honours the best adaptation of a book into a film, thus recognizing the original author and the screenwriter.
According to awards organizer, “Scripter celebrates writers and writing, collaboration, and the profound results of transforming one artistic medium into another. It stands as an emblem of libraries’ ability to inspire creative and scholarly achievement.”
Founded in 1988, it took 34 years for an animation to win the award, and that was Guillermo del Toro’s 2022 animation feature and winner of that year’s Oscars Animated Feature – ‘Pinocchio’. Pinocchio based on the 1883 Carlo Collodi novel, was written by Guillermo del Toro, Patrick Hale and Matthew Robbins.
Two years later, ‘The Wild Robot’ is the second animated feature nominated for the awards. A bestselling novel, ‘The Wild Robot’ was originally written by Peter Brown, and screen-scripted by Chris Sanders.
Th 37th annual Scripter Awards will hold on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Town & Gown, USC Campus, in Los Angeles.
