The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that the president made efforts to open dialogue with opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, shortly after assuming office.

Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV on Saturday, Bwala disclosed that emissaries were sent to Atiku’s residence as part of attempts to foster engagement between both camps.

According to him, the delegation was allegedly denied access to the former vice president.

“When President Tinubu took the oath of office, while I was still with Atiku, I can tell you this because I was close to him, envoys from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were sent to meet Atiku Abubakar,” Bwala said.

He further claimed, “They came to the gates of Atiku, but Atiku ordered that the gate should not be opened to them.”

Bwala maintained that Tinubu made deliberate moves to engage political rivals, adding that former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, had also met with the president several times before their recent political differences became public.
